I used a benzoyl peroxide acne medicine product that has burned my face. It is very red, dry and itchy now. It is all over my cheeks basically. I am also using a blood pressure medicine that could possibly have interacted with this medicine (??). What will make this redness go away; it looks awful!

Already Tried:
using a calming lotion, like Eucerin for itching. Doesn't help redness

Hello

This shows that you have hypersensitivity reaction(allergy) from benzoyl peroxide. This had caused redness all over the cheek. It is not due to drug interaction with blood pressure medication. It is because of drug allergy.

A hypersensitivity reaction (similar to an allergy) occurs in the skin, causing inflammation. The inflammation causes the skin to become reddish & itchy.

You should discontinue it.Take tablet Levocitrizan 5mg once a day. Apply Calamine lotion over the cheek. This will reduce any burning sensation or itching and will clear all the redness. Both medication are availaible at counter..

Hope this helped.
