A confusing case of acne?

I've never had acne as a teen,hence I lack the experience to know better, however in my adulthood (40's) I'm experiencing some painful very swollen bumps localized to my chin. Oxy daily wash seems to help some, but they last weeks at a time and pop up randomly. Nothing seems to be stopping it. Is this acne, or some other infection?
