This condition sounds like angular chelitis and is most common in winter. Some of the usual remedies, include topical antibiotics and topical miconazole oral gel to treat fungal super-infections. Have it checked by her pediatrician to verify that it is indeed the right diagnosis.
Angular chelitis can occur in the setting of iron and vitamin deficiencies (especially B2, B12) so it would be a good idea to have these levels checked (requires blood-work) if it does not improve with the above treatment.
