Sent to Health Experts March 06, 2006 11:33 a.m.

What might this be & are there test that I can do myself? My face gets really hot and pink sometimes. I am use to eating small snacks all day long but sometimes due to different things I'm not able to. From time to time this also happens when I do eat.Optional Information: Female , Age: 30Already Tried: Paying attention to my eating habits + taking vitamins & minerals. This all happened before I added the vitamins and minerals & the occurrences are few since they were added.

Relist:
This site won't let me reply so I'm doing this as a "re list" but I will accept this answer. Thank you for your time.

Dr. Gupta,
The best I can tell you is the flushing occurs when I don't eat as I should or when the air temperature rises. I may have a drink socially but not daily & I'm not on Niacin or medications for diabetes. I forgot to mention that I already payed attention to any Niacin that may be in the vitamins or minerals I take due to the fact that I do have a quick reaction to niacin. Is there a possibility that this may be diabetes? If so are there any test that I can do myself to see?

Diabetes can be picked up by a simple blood / urine test, however please understand that diabetes itself is unlikely to cause the symptoms that you have described, what I was mentioning was one of the medicines that is used for treating diabetes, namely Diabenese.

Do remember to ACCEPT and consider a BONUS if you found the answer useful. For any clarifications please get back.

Regards

Dr. Gupta
