a relative of mine has been having some problems with alcohol abuse. This afternoon he came over very violent, staggering with dilated pupils. He was behaving in a way I had never seen before. I know this person has had problems with alcohol, but had stopped drinking for two weeks. If one stopped drinking cold turkey after several years of abuse, would this cause violent behavior? This person had no alcohol on his breath today.

Optional Information:
Male , Age: 27

I have tried to find counseling for this person on a sliding scale because of lack of funds. This, however, has not been successful. I do believe this person would accept counseling if it were available
