Sent to Health Experts April 17, 2006 3:10 p.m.

I recently received results from a health screening facilitated by my insurance company. These results indicated my ggt level was 128 and my normal range should be 0 to 40. Also indicated was an elevated total cholesterol of 209 and elevated LDL of 128. All other lab results were within normal range.

I am a 39 year old female and the only medication I take is Synthroid (100 mcg daily) due to benign tumor on thyroid gland 2 years ago which resulted in one side of gland surgically removed. I have self-diagnosed irritable bowel syndrome and try to control with diet.

I have been researching the GGT results and based on lab results and symptoms I am wondering if I should be concerned about Primary Biliary Cirrhosis? Or is it common for GGT levels to be elevated temporarily?
