You should NOT be drinking alcohol when on these drugs.

Tell your doctor if you are a frequent user of drinks with caffeine or alcohol, if you smoke, or if you use illegal drugs. These may affect the way your medicine works.

You may absorb alcohol faster, but it may take longer to metabolize out of your body too.

It can cause your medicines to react differently. It can thin your blood more than the doctor wants it to.

Hope that helps,

This could very well be the reason. Also, everyone is so different. The charts are averages and estimates based on an average sized person with average metabolism.

I'm sorry for your DUI!

Please let me know if I can help more.

Hello

Okay, I just called my local pharmacist at Walgreens.

She said that while the drugs you are on are predominantly metabolized in kidney, and alcohol is predominantly metabolized in the liver, there can still be a relation to the rate at which alcohol leaves your body if you are on these medications.

This is because your kidneys are already working hard to metabolize the medicines, and alcohol, being a diruetic as well, can cause the kidneys function to be over loaded, thus slowing down the metabolic process.

Make sense?
