Hi Mark.
Gluten-free and soy-free for three years...Nice work. Not an easy task at all.
Here are a few ideas that may help. Fish oil, specifically cod liver oil (lemon flavored if you can find it) can help as it is anti-inflammatory and contains Vitamin A which is great for the skin. Just be careful as vitamin A can be toxic in large doses...Use as directed (usually a teaspoon a day). Carlson is a good brand.
Digestive enzymes containing pepsin, papain, protease, lipase, amylase, pancrealipase, etc can help you digest your foods better, aiding in the detox process. Take these with foods.
Drinking plenty of water is always good for the skin and liver to flush out toxins. Minimum of 1/3 of your body weight (pounds) in ounces. Average is 60-70 ounces.
Topically you could try vitmain E or A&D ointment. Just make sure they are gluten and soy free and use them as directed on the label.
Sometimes these spots can be caused by a deficiency of essential fatty acids and/or Vitamin A. If this is the case, cod liver oil would correct both of these.
Eating root vegetables (beets, onions, garlic) can be very supportive to liver function. In addition an herb called Milk Thistle (sometimes found as Silybum or Silymarin) may be great for overall liver health. Use this directed and under the supervision of a local physician.
That should help. Let me know.
