How can tell if my eardrum is ruptured if it is not draining

My ear feels like it has cotton in it. It hurts to chew, or talk because it is affected my throat. I can not even lay on that side, and at night I cry myself to self because it hurts too bad. The ear it's self is not draining. Since it started I have been coughing up a weird yellowish colored mucus. My allergies are acting up, and what I read it could have blown it. Is this information correct?
