She is already taking Chlor-Trimeton, would that be as affective as benadryl? It has been going on for two/three days and the swelling is just happening now.

The Chlor-Trimeton is not as effective as the Benadryl. If this has been going on for two to three days then the swelling has now started this is an indication that it is worsening. If she has no known allergies I would suggest that she try the Benadryl to see if it is more effective, even without allergies the Benadryl would be more effective then what she is taking now. And if these symtpoms persist I would recommend that she be seen by her physician to determine what the cause is. If she has never taken the Chlor-Trimeton before it could be that cause of this reaction although many things can cause hives even nerves can cause a hive outbreak.
