Hi,

A prescription drug called Diamox may help. It works by stimulating your breathing, so that you take faster and deeper breaths. It can be taken on a plane several hours before arrival or at the airport before departure.
However, Diamox is a powerful medication, so it's best to avoid it if you can. Side effects include increased urination and tingling of the fingers and toes; People with allergies to sulfa drugs should not take Diamox.

Reply to V. Yetimyan M.D.'s Post: I remember taking this medication when I was a teenager of 17 or 18 years old, I do not remember the medication to be diamox.

Hi,

Decadron tablet can prevent high altitude pulmonary edema. Antivert tablet can be used for nausea , vomiting and dizziness associated with motion sickness.
