Benadryl Allergy should help with his symptoms. This sounds like your husband has allergies which would be managed better by prescription medications such as Allegra, Zrytex, Claritin, or Singulair. Have him see his doctor for an examination and treatment. This will help him a lot more than OTC meds. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.

Reply to James Grant's Post: By examination, do you mean he would be examined for specific allergies? Is there anything I can do in the meantime for him because he is always on-call and it isn't feasible for him to just stop in and see the doctor...

The Benadryl Allergy med is over the counter and should help him until he has a chance to see a doctor. I have treated many Marines with the same symptoms in a field setting with this and had great results. The doctor will probably just do a normal exam of his head, ears, eyes, nose, throat, and lungs just to rule out an infection. A test for a specific allergy is generally not needed unless your husband doesn't respond to the presciption medications. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.
