This could very well be allergy related and usually when you are in an inclined position such as a prone position for sleeping it can be more pronounced. You should try using a humidifier at night as this will help to addd some moisture to the air in your house which can help to lessen the cough and also use some Robitussin for cough and chest congestion but this can very well be related to allergies especially if you are not suffering from any chest pain or fever which could relate to bronchitis or pneumonia.
