For two weeks now, it appears that when I ingest a Pepsi, mayonaise or any sweet dessert, I soon thereafter have reddish, welt-like patches (hives?), that itch, on my shoulders & upper-arms. One instance amde my upper lip swell up, but subsided in 8-10 hours. Any ideas what is causing my reaction to what I believe is sugar? Thanks.

Hello,

Disappearance of symptoms attributed to food allergies during an elimination diet is the real determinant of a food allergy.

The only reliable treatment for food allergy is to avoid the problem food. A dietician can help you identify and remove a problem food from your diet and replace it with alternatives, to make sure you don't miss out on essential nutrients.
