For the past 2 evenings my skin itches unbearably and breaks out in welts under my arms, breasts, sides, and groin area, as well as the palms of my hands and soles of my feet. This morning when I awoke, my lips are totally swollen; they look like they've been injected with novacaine and the are tingling a lot. I'm scared...

Hi.

You are describing "acute urticaria."

The best treatment is an antihistamine such as benadryl but as your lips are involved I advise you strongly to see your Dr.

This can occur for a variety of reasons ( not just allergies) although often no cause can be identified.
