I was taking medication for rosacea I have stopped taking it for some time now

I have the symptoms most of the time. some days are better than others. I use eye drops for the symptoms of dry eye diagnosed by my eye doctor.

I have some dicharge from time to time when I wake in the morning.

I do not wear contacts or glasses.

Reply to Gloria K's Post: Im not sure if this is allergy related. I have never been tested for allergies.

As far as rosacea flareups are concerned. I really do not get any. I just get flushed from time to time and I have a few facial spider veins, thats all

Reply to Gloria K's Post: I seem to have this occur frequently whether I am at home or at work. I feel better outside,at times.

My eye doctor says that i have dry eyes. i believe there must be a way to clear this up. I was also told that i should have blood work done to determine if this is related to a thyroid condition? I have not had any bloodwork done yet.

Hi Loni,

It's possible that you may have allergies, and this should be ruled out.

It's also quite possible that your eyes are red from the eyedrops, and this is causing a "rebound red eye." I recommend calling your opthamalogist (eye doc), and making an appointment. If allergies are ruled out, ask if ocular rosacea is a possibility. If this is not the case, you may need to stop the eye drops, or switch to a different kind. Your doctor may also recommend a "natural tears" type of eye drop. Do not change your medications/eye drops, or use new ones without the approval and knowledge of your doctor.

If you have anymore questions, please continue to ask- that's what I'm here for! Otherwise, if you are satisfied with this answer, and if I have helped you, please hit the accept button and leave positive feedback. Thanks, Gloria
