Question

first off i'm a 29 year old male, married, family,

Sent to Health Experts May 22, 2007 10:14 a.m.

first off i'm a 29 year old male, married, family, etc. i'm also diagnosed with anxiety disorder. so this will probably make sense. 2 1/2 weeks ago i had an encounter with a friend. wife knew of this, wasn't sneaking around. anyhow we had protected intercourse for about 35-40 minutes i guess. i used two condoms, at separate times. she performed oral on me for a few seconds, i did NOT on her. i did not finger her either. she did stimulate herself 3 or so times for a few seconds at a time with her fingers. she licked her fingers prior to doing so. about 30 minutes into the encounter we kissed slightly. after sex we both finished ourselves off. my question is should i get checked for anything STD/HIV wise? Last week I had a stomach ailment (as did wi with a bit of fever and aches but it lasted a day at the most. Now i just feel like I have some allergies (runny nose, watery eyes, slight cough, scratchy throat). Am I paranoid or do I have reason to be worried? thank you. -L

The statistics on oral sex are certainly reassuring. That would imply that our brief kissing after her stimulating herself lessens the risk further? Also, I took the condoms and filled them with water to check for leaks or breaks. With my nervous tendencies I had no business engaging in such an encounter. *sigh*

This is all assuming she's carrying something in the first place. She isn't high risk, nor am I. It was a planned encounter with no drugs or alcohol.

Years ago she had some risky behavior but had since tested negative for anything from what I understand. She just got out of a relationship of about a year and was planning to get tested for general health reasons prior to starting a new relationship. I'll wait to hear back from what she says.

I was mostly looking for some statistics such as you provided to ease my mind. Aside from our stomach ailment (we both got it) and my allergies I feel fine. Nervous, tense, stressed... but fine :)

thanks,
L

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Well if she is negative in first place then probably you are not at risk .

Also throat swab for STD should be positive for STD trasmission .Transmission of STD via this route is less common .
