Hi,
Post nasal drip can be caused by a variety of reasons like rhinitis, sinusitis, allergies ,acid reflux,nasal polyp etc .
If there is associated coughing and sore throat and symptoms are acute and short duration then viral pharyngitis may be there.
But if coughing is persistent and there is chest congestion etc then bronchitis etc may be associated .
As such you may try steam inhalation and saline gargles thrice a day .
Apart from that some anti histaminic medicine like cetirizine may be helpful apart from usual cough syrups .
Apart from these basic treatments i would advise an ENT checkup and auscultation of the chest also .
