Chest Pain
Sent to Health Experts August 17 10:19 PM

I'm getting pain/discomfort down the left side of my chest/abdoman. I've been told my condition is not heart related. Although I had a stent placement one year ago, two further angioplasty procedures recently as a result of continuing discomfort confirmed no heart problem with the stent performing properly. I am told the pain I am feeling is due to something else, not the heart. But what is causing the pain I have no idea and even the doctor is at a loss. Any ideas or suggestion?

My sugar levels are elevated at that borderline state. I do not take any medication. Glocuse reading avarage about 135-145 during the day. They are higher when I have episodes of pain / discomfort. Could there be side issues as a result of this?

Hi

Is your stent one that is impregnanted with medicine and releases drugs into your system? If so, you might find this site helpful:

Reply to Kerry's Post: I have two coated Taxus stents. One placed back in August 2004 and the second on dec 2004 as a result of minir restanosis (spelling). From the moment I had by first stent I have always experieved discomfoet or pain down in the chest, left arm and down my left arm and shoulder. Doctors have told me it is the heart but omeother cindition

Like others, docters are trying to figure out the problem but their immediate approach is to feed more medication. I believe my condition is due to my medication - Plavix and Vytorin. Based on what? I've read medication appears to be a culprit - but how can I saY that to a Docter who is focusSED on providing medication for the smallest of reasons. I ned to come of medicstion, need to get rid of my constant pain and gain assurance that my condition of pain in the left side is not heeart related..
