I have a 6 year old daughter who broke her arm Wed. last week. The doctor set her arm, casted it, xrayed it to find out it wasn't set right. We spent 5 1/2 hours in the operating room to have it reset. We went hack today for a one week checkup. They xrayed her arm again. The xray showed a "step off". I have not heard of this term before. The xray showed that the bone still is not lined up all the way. Is this a true term? Is it common? How will this affect the rest of her life? Should I get a second oppinion?

What the doctor meant is it is still offline with being completely lined up. what I dont understand is how he could not get it right the first or even second time. this could cause long term effects if not done correctly. i would suggest if you are comfortable with it to get a second opinion on this. she has a lot of growing to do and you do not want this to cause problems. If you are satisfied with my answer click accept.

rthanks
