Hi, recently about 3 weeks ago my grandma started moving the left side of her mouth and talking funny. Her eye swelled up and is all red and I also noticed her left arm gets "lazy". She has been to her family doctor who referred her to a specialist. Neither one really knows what is wrong, but the specialist put her on neurontin 300mg. However I am noticing she is having trouble talking now and gets short of breath. About 2 months ago she finished her last chemo treatment because she had stomach cancer. In the past years she has had breast and lung cancer also. I would really like to know if anyone has any idea what is going on and what I can do to help her. It is so hard seeing her like this, she was doing so good after her last chemo and now this happens. Please let me know A.S.A.P. Thank you

Have they checked for a brain tumor? Could be that, secondary to a metastasis. These are all significant neurological signs, except for the breathing, and depending on where the pressure is, if there is indeed a tumor, her breathing could also be affected.

I am wondering if there could perhaps be a subluxation, or misalignment in the vertebrae, at the very top of her spine, causing nerve impingement. It would have to wait until tomorrow, but I could check with my chiropractor. Sometimes those alternative things can be very helpful. Let me know if you'd like for me to ask. Otherwise, I'd also be happy to see if I can find someone else online now who could perhaps help.

hi, thanks but she has already been to the chiropractor and he has no clue either. We have an appointment set up with the neurologist, but she can't be seen until may 2nd and this is too long. She only seems to be getting worse. Thanks anyway for watning to as the doctor.
