Alkaline phosphatase level goes up when bile duct becomes obstructed by a gall stone or for any other reason. Normal Alkaline phosphatase level is 38-126 IU/L.

Surgeon wants to wait till arm is able to be positioned for the gall bladder surgery. Lost 30# already. Not feeling well at all. PS...Why did the gallbladder act up after the rotarcuff surgery? Dr here said it may have to do with being put out for 6 hours.?????

The gallbladder and liver are not like heart , things doesn't happen fast . If it cause a liver damage , i would think it will be minimal.

I think surgeon is right , you have to wait for the arm unless it is an Emergency surgery.

It can be multiple reasons such as diet around the time of the surgery , stress , anesthesia etc.

I would say the stress of anesthesia possibly made the alkaline phosphatase to go up. Some women develops gall- bladder problem after childbirth for some reasons although their galbladder didn't bother them before .
