Please help my arm!
Sent to Health Experts July 06 02:47 AM

My arm feel asleep while watching a movie. I was in a butterfly so there was focused pressure from the fabric on my armpit for about two hours. I am a 24 year male in good shape (Climbing, Rollerblading around manhattan, Waiting tables), but after two days the numbness, weakness, and tingling still remains. What's wrong and how do I fix it?

Optional Information:
Male , Age: 24

Already Tried:
I've tried stretching, massaging, and shaking my numb arm.

You probably have a pinched and inflammed nerve. Try icing the area, and take advil or motrin for inflammation. If that doesn't help, this merits a trip to the doctor.

Reply to Kerry's Post: Assuming the mortin/advil and ice doesn't do the trick what options will the hospital have to fix the situation. I'm a server with no health insurance, and I definitely would mind waiting it out. Could this be permanent?

It could be.....but chances are it isn't. A hospital isn't going to help you much. You need to see a regular doctor, and it will be less expensive. Give it a few more days, rest your arm as much as possible, and see what happens with the motrin or advil and ice.
