Good evening,

May I ask a question for further clarification?
Does the numbness of the two last fingers and the weakness of the whole hand go away after you have been up for awhile? Is there any weakness of the arm?

Hi and thanks for replying so quickly. It stays all the time and no weakness in the arm. both hands look the same no signs of trauma. I also notice a loss of dexterity in my Lt.hand

I can't be certain, but the numbness of the last two fingers may often be caused by a pinched nerve. The ulnar nerve may have experienced some irritation by your having put undue pressure on the elbow area which puts pressure on the nerve causing the fingers to feel numb.

Usually it goes away after awhile if it is caused by the nerve. An anti-inflammatory may help.

Just to be sure though and to rule out anything more serious you may want to have your doctor check you further. I think that seeing your doctor sooner rather than later maybe helpful.

If you do develop any weakness in your arm and/or dizziness or headache, you need to get to the doctor right away as it may be an indication of a potential for a stroke.

You know, the older we get the more things that seem to change.

I hope that I have answered your question and have provided you with the help that you were seeking.

Hope that I have helped.
