Hello,

It is possible that you have pulled a muscle at the back near the upper right side of the spine. This could have pinched a nerve supplying the muscles of the upper arm and shoulder, causing pain and weakness.

Ideally, you should get a physical examination and an Xray and probably even an MRI to rule out any dmamge to your spine.

Meanwhile you can apply a warm, moist heat pack for 10 minutes, 3 time a day - a towel wrung out in warm wter works quite wwell.

Apply a painrelieving and muscle relaxing ointment like Tobricin ointment over the shoulders thrice daily.

Take painrelievers like Motrin tablets 500mg thrice daily after food for 5 days.

Rest your arm- fold a large scarf into a triangle. Tie the two lower ends together and slip it over your neck like a sling. Rest your arm inside the sling.

If you do not get better in 7 days, please consult your doctor for more extensive treatment.

I hope this helps.
