My forearms are extremely sore. I can hardly lift anything heavy. I am 54 years . I am going through menopause. I am fit and eat a healthy diet. I have had some bicep tendinitis in my left bicep but this is going down both fore arms. I am not sure who to see about something like this.

You need to see an Orthopedic Surgeon to rule out conditions such as pinched nerve in the neck, carpal tunnel syndrome etc.

I have already been treated for tendinitis and there is no cure. What if this is the same? I don't have health insurance and I can't waste money on a lot of tests.

Hi,

Symptoms of biceps tendinitis include: Pain when the arm is overhead or bent , localized tenderness as the tendon passes over the groove in the upper arm bone. Your symptoms looks different but certainly tendinitis needs to be ruled out. You can try Advil tablet and see if you feel better. If your symptoms persist then you decide about seeing a doctor.

For the Biceps tendinitis conservative treatment is done. If it fails the next step is arthroscopic surgery.

For Carpal tunnel syndrome also conservative treatment comes first. If it does not work , Carpal tunnel release is done.

Pinched nerve in the neck , again , conservative treatment such as pain medication by mouth, epidural injections and physical therapy comes first. Surgery is the last choice.
