High Blood Pressure

Sent to Health Experts September 12 08:39 PM

I was experiencing chest pressure and went to my primary care physician, but did not have a rapid pulse or any arm pain, but did have slight discomfort in my neck. An EKG and chest X-Ray were performed and compared against my last tests conducted within 24 months, everything was normal. However, my blood pressure continues to stay high at 150/75-80 and sometimes higher. I have a stress test and MRI scheduled for next week, but am worrying about the high pressure. Anxiety was a possible cause and have tried some XANAX with fair results. I am 41 and 25 lbs overweight, I do not smoke and drink very moderately.

I had a coarctation of aorta repaired as a late teen, I take 75mg of Toprol and 10mg of Lipitor.
