my son is 8 years old.On aug 31 I noticed he had a very large lymphnode under his arm. It was painless. 3 days later he started to run a fever. sometimes going up to 102. Then it would come down after meds. He was not complaining of feeling bad, sore throat , just layed around when his fever was high. But was fine when the fever came down. acted normal. He would sweat alot at night, I'm guessing his fever breaking? then he complained of a back pain in his lower back and the pain went into his ring finger. That has happened about 4 times. he stopped running a fever for 3 days but was still sweating alot after he would fall asleep. He also had a urine done about 2 days after
the fever and that was fine. He has complain that the node itches-maybe skin
stretching? The doctor did blood work on him sept 8th. Then he started running a fever
again, mostly lowgrade and it comes and goes. He has a little less of an appetite, says
he feels like he's full. like before ,feels tired but not extreme, mostly when his fever is
up a little. Also he has a spot on his back right next to his shoulder blade that is swollen. Very
noticable. The swelling uder his arm and shoulder blade has made his shoulder very
lopesided from his other side.I noticed that on sept 8th when I took him for blood work. Also on the rib cage he has a bump that you can see. His rib looks like maybe it is
sticking out or a growth? Could it be spleen enlargement or more nodes? All of this swollen areas is on his left side. Then the doctor called me sept 11th and said he has mono and was in the (convelesent phase ) she said that means getting better stage? But then tonight I noticed he is getting another spot ,on his chest ,that is swelling on the right side. He has taken a round of antibiotic before we new about the test results, and
his blood showed no bacterial infection anyway. I read that you can have a pos. result for mono if you have other condtions such as lymphoma. Is this true? What should I do? I feel like I am very worried about this and don't know if I should insist the doctor do more testing?
