my daughter fell from the jungle gym and landed on her arm. Cried for three hours last night and ran a small fever. Stayed home today and is carrying her arm around on a pillow. Can move 3 out of 5 fingers. Ring finger and pinky too painful to move. there is a spot on her wrist bone that i can't touch without making her cry. could this just be a bad bruise or do you think it is a fracture of some sort.

Optional Information:

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Because of her age it is hard to determine if her reluctance to move/use all her fingers, etc., is due to an inability, or just extreme pain in that area. However, she is showing three of the five physical signs of a fracture or sprain--pain, swelling, loss of function (the other two being a crackling sound and bruising or bleeding into the skin at the site) so I would probably go ahead and have her see the doc and see if she needs xrayed. Otherwise, you're doing the right thing with the ice and motrin.
