It could be a sign of a pinched nerve, strain, or ligament or cartiledge problem. It also may be the beginning symptoms of arthritis as well. If you have ever injured your knee before then you can easily develop arthritis. If this condition continues I would recommend talking with your physician about possible treatments for this and allow them to run some tests to determine if anything is strained or torn, they can even tell if it is the beginning signs of arthritis. It may help to purchase a knee brace that can help add support to your knee and cause you to possibly reinjure it less. I suggest that you take some time off the sports as it seems that you keep re-igniting the injury by only giving it a day or two of healing time. Think about the brace, let your knee have more time to heal and if this condition continues after giving additional healing time I highly recommend that you make an appointment with your physician. They may want to take some x-rays and/or an MRI to determine the exact cause of the injury. I hope this information will be of help to you.

if it is a strain or arthritis your best best is treatment with an anti-inflammatory medication, limited activity, and if a pinched nerve a possible examination with a neurologist if the anti-inflammatories do not seem to help. Also for now pick up some Motrin or Aleve which can temporarily help with some of the pain and inflamation. Also I recommed some warm compresses daily at different intervals, say three times a day for 20 minutes.

Naproxin is a good anti-inflammatory medication which most doctors will prescribe as well as possibly some pain medication depending on the level of pain. I hope this will help you.

Yes I think with the added information that you have given it could very well be the signs of early arthritis. If you have given rest then a strain is a lesser possibility, but remember depending on the severity of a sprain and if you play exertive sports it can reinjure even after seven days of resting. I think you best bet is the anti-inflammatory regiment and see if this helps. If it is arthritis they will most likely put you on a medication that can help with the pains of arthritis, if something like Tylenol Arthritis formula doesn't seem to help. The fact that first thing in the morning after no movement or activity to the leg it has a tendenacy to be stiff can also be a sign of arthritis as well. Swelling will not show with arthritis in most cases the inflammation is more inside so more often the signs are stiffness and pain, even deep low aches. I hope this will be of help to you.
