My right knee hurts mostly at night, when it is in a straight position, like it is in bed. When I stand or sit in one position for an extended time, or sitting in my recliner. I don't have much problem walking or palying golf. If I wear a knee strap up until bed time I have less pain. The pain is a gnawing ache. I have had xrays which show some loss of cartilege and spurs. I have had Cortizone shots as well as a series of 5 knee injections. neither helped. Do you have any ideas? My family doctor doesn't. I know i am going to have to go to a Orthropedic doctor, but I thought you might have a clue. I am taking "Ultram" for the pain, and ice also helps. I am just having some really miserable nights. Thanks, Jerry
