I'm 35 years old and have Crohns disease. I have had several flareups since July. I was on different doses of Predisone also since July. On 11/30/05, I had my 1st major surgery for an abcess, 1 fistula ( i have 2) and a diseased part of my small intestine. I've been weened off my predidone since @ Christmas. Since Christmas, I've been dealing with severe pain in my legs, hips, arms and fingers. They are constantly swollen and I walk around like I'm 100 years old. I ache all over. My doctors have stated that it should go away and that it is a side effect of comming off the steroid. I finally made an appointment with a R. Arthritis doctor for next week. I've taken over the counter medicine and percocet. Nothing is helping. I've also gained 25 pounds since being on the steroids however, I can't exercise if I am in this kind of pain. Is this common and is there medication for this? Will I ever feel normal?
