ACCEPTED Check Mark

It can be if it is quite often. It could be an issue with his circulation, a blood clot, prolonged standing, certain medications, venous insufficiency ( when the veins are not adequately pumping blood back to the heart) or trauma to the leg or ankle. It would be best if this continues that he be seen by his physician to have some bloodwork performed and a physical examination to determine the cause of the swelling especially if he has not done anything to injure it.
