have wbc at 17.6, neutrophils absolute at 14.1. lymphs are low 13 Dr is sending me to an oncologist. Why does she think that is where i need to go?

nothing yet, just going to oncolgist on Monday, but don't understand why that is where she wants me to go.

An elevated WBC count occurs in infection, allergy, systemic illness, inflammation, tissue injury, and leukemia. So Dr. is sending you to oncologist possibly to rule out leukemia.
