I am sufffring the side effecsof Prednisone Overdose (poison?)._
All sumtoms, rouind face increase in next size (had to muy new shirts with a larger collar..Severly swollen left foot and ankle. Right foot swollen to a lesser degree.
Catarac situation worsened , Surgery scheduled for 13 July 06. A new roll o f fat aronund my midsection. Recent fall resulted in abrasionsand scrapes that won't heal. (bandages chnanged regularly with bactracin ointment applied each time). They contine to seepblook and one has pus in it. I understand that rhe body immune system is degraded and that is what making rather simple wound hard to to heal...

Any help here??

Already Tried:
Eliminated salt to prevent more water retention. One doctor recommended elastic socks but did address any other condition. Treat wounds from faling daily. That about sums up what a patient can do. Whnat do you recommend thst I do that will relieve this condition????

I have been receiving the for about a year or so but the last three were given in a 4 week span of time. I am nt "taking" prednisone nor was I prior to this event..The Pain doctor told me the injectins contained prednisone..I just reeceived too much in a sor period of thme

I believe that you are absolutely correct in your diagnosis of prednisolone toxicity, and most (if not all) of your problems are related to this...
The treatment would be simply stopping any further treatment with steroids.... For acute arthritis the best treatment would be to take strong pain-killers during the acute episode and disease - modifying agents like methotrexate etc. on a long term basis since these should possibly reduce the chances of acute exacerbations...
There is no specific medicne that will take care of all the side-effects, though taking a diuretic for water retention and aggressive antibiotic treatment for preventing spread of infection is recommended.
Also you need to make sure that your vaccinations (shots) are up to date including the FLU shot/ Pneumococcal/ chicken pox shot, since as you are aware your immunity is low and you a e at risk for infections
