swelling of leg

Kneeled down on the kitchen tile and it felt like kneeling on a small pebble (ouch) later that knight the area below the knee and shin area swelled up and was red and warm. Next night a little fever and my ankle swelled up as well, ankle has gone down a little but the area remains red???
