Greetings Mr. Brandenburger,
The positive antiphospholipid antibodies that she has predisposes her to deep vein thrombosis (DVT or blood clots in the legs), miscarriages, stroke and heart attacks if it is not adequately treated. She needs to be seen by a rheumatologist promptly since she may require anticoagulation (or antiplatelet medication) in addition to completing the work-up for possible systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren's syndrome (all these are auto-immune conditions that can have positive antiphospholipid titers).
There is no cure for antiphospholipid syndrome but the titers of the antibodies may decrease on their own with time. The treatment focuses on preventing blood clots and ruling out the associated conditions listed above.
I am not familiar with any specific rheumatologists in Zacatecas but she can consider calling the Universidad de Zacatecas Facultad de Medicina to find one that is involved in academics. Tel: +52 492 210 56
Sincerely,
Dr.Bernon
