ACCEPTED Check Mark

Doctors all fulfill the same requirements for med school and most do a 3 year residency in medicine. Once they decide to specialize they can do fellowships or extended residency programs. Once they take the general licensing exam, they have the option of taking a certification exam with one of the "Boards" such as Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, etc. It simply means that he has not yet taken one of those optional tests, or has tried and not passed it successfully. There are many good docs our there that have not been boarded and some that are boarded that I would not let take care of my dog!
