21 y/o male presents with wheezing and shortness of breath ...

21 y/o male presents with wheezing and shortness of breath with moderate exercise x 1 week. No hx of asthma, fever/chills, n/v/d. HEENT is unremarkable, Lungs:CTA B/L, Heart: R/R/R N/M. Pt states that with exercise that gets his heart rate up such as working out or running he first experiences wheezing and then coughing while continually getting short of breath. Pt is in good physical condition in the Marines. No other signs or symptoms. No past medical HX. What could this be?

As a respiratory therapist one can get exercse nduced asthma only when participating, best to take his meds l5 minutes before exercise,also pulmonary function testing may give a better picture. Go to th following website for further explanation.

i was kind of shying away from the diagnoses of asthma because of his age and the symptoms didn't build up with age. true though this case does sound a lot like asthma. what about aspergillosis?
