Question

For months now, my chest feels tight and compressed...

Sent to Health Experts November 09, 2005 10:14 a.m.

For months now, my chest feels tight and compressed... almost like the chest wall is swollen. I find it hard to take full breaths and on some days it's impossible. There are no "triggers" or any attacks. My first doctor put my on albuterol and advair for asthma but they did nothing. My second doctor put me on an anti-inflammatory which likewise did nothing. He then put me on heavy doses of prednisone which worked wonders but as soon as the prescription ended my condition regressed. I don't know what to do and I'm at the end of my rope...I just want to be able to take a full breath without feeling like there's a bowling ball in my chest.
