I have a 16 month old son and when he runs and plays hard he begins to cough. He coughs so hard that he vomits. This happens at least twice a week, but his pediatrician doesn't seemed concerned about this, although I have brought it to his attention several times. Could you please give me some ideas on what could be causing this and what I could do?

REPLIED Check Mark

Your son may be suffering from asthma or allergies. See your doctor again to have him checked for these things. If he does have asthma he needs to be on an inhaler. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.

I've asked his doctor about my son having asthma or allergies and he doesnt think he does. I have requested him to be sent to an Asthma and Allergy clinic but the doctor does not think my son needs it. I just want to know whats wrong with my son, because I am tired of him suffering. Thank you.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

I understand. I know that this can be very frustrating since I have asthma myself. Mine came about 3 years ago and I have never had any symptoms before. There are 2 steps that you can take. 1. Insist to his doctor on getting him tested for asthma and allergies. 2. Get a second opinion from another doctor. I think the latter may be best since this doctor seems like he/she is not taking the proper steps to get to the root of the problem. Please not that these are just possibilities but they should still be ruled out. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.
