Chest pain and severe asthma attacks

I have reflux which I take Nexium for and asthma which I take Albuterol for as needed. In the past few weeks, I'm feeling sharp spasms in my esophogial area, just above my heart. I'm also having more and more severe asthma attacks, usually after climbing stairs, or carrying a small load like a laundry basket. Could this be my reflux causing this? What should I be concerned about and how should I counteract these asthma attacks?
