Question

I have been experiencing lower back pain from my tail ...

Sent to Health Experts March 02, 2006 11:03 a.m.

I have been experiencing lower back pain from my tail bone to my hip, it seems to be originating in that area, but it doen't feel like its in the bone or muscle and it is tender. I have not injured myself. This pain makes it hard for me to walk because of the pain. I also have had an irregular period and I spot in between usually, it is old blood. It is painful to have intercourse, and I spot afterward.I am only 23, and this is making it hard to do things. I went to the ER last night and all they did was rub my back, take blood, do a pap smear and give me a shot in my hip. Blood work and pap was normal. He told me I am overweight and thats what the problem is. I feel that is not it. I think it is something more. There is a strong family history of endometriosis and ovarian cysts. My aunt also had a tumor on her thymus gland. Please help!! Oh, I also have very frequent bowel movements that are yellow and diarrhea. I hope u can help me.

Yellow stools can indicate liver, gall baller or even your pancreas. At this point you may want to see a Gastroenterologist as well. Especially if this yellow stool is occurring more than a couple of days.

As far as bleeding after sex this can occur for a number of reasons, and is nothing to take lightly. Here's a look at the top 10 causes of vaginal bleeding after sex: Cervical Dysplasia,Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Vaginitis, Cervical Polyps,Trichomoniasis,Vaginal Yeast Infection, Endometrisi, Uterine Polyps, Fibroid tumors.

Now if any of the above is related to the lower back pain will need to be determined. Which it may be in conjunction with your yellow stool. If not, it's possible it may be related to your sciatic nerve.

But for the moment with the stool being yellow, follow up with the Gastroenterologist and go from there.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *accept* button!

thank you for your reply, now I know what to ask my family doctor about. I really appreciate you answering me and giving me a place to start. I had an ultrasound done on my gallbladder when I was pregnant over 2 years ago, and they said it was full of "sludge."
