for the past two days i have been having pain in my lower back going around my sides above my hips. I thought it was kidney infection but i have no discoloration or burning while peeing. It's not a back problem, i don't have pain from movement - but it sure hurts to breathe, cough, yawn.... please help. I am scared to death of doctors and hospitals. What can this be????

Hi,

It looks like pleuresy or pleuritis to me.It is the inflammation of the covering of the lung.Pleurisy may develop in the presence of lung inflammation (pneumonia, tuberculosis), rheumatic diseases, chest trauma, certain cancers, and asbestos-related disease. The main symptom is pain over the chest wall at the site of the inflammation.

Hi,

You can still have lower back pain and coming above your hip with pleuritis. In this situation the pleura covering the lower part of the lungs suppose to involve. Usually a chest X-ray helps to make a diagnosis.
