can unhealthy teeth cause back pain?
Sent to Health Experts April 24 11:13 AM

I have a coworker that is having back pain. He is also in need of having several teeth worked on. I have heard my grandfather say that bad teeth can cause back pain. Is this just an old wives tale?

Hi,
Tooth problems can cause jaw ache and headache, but backache is not possible because of that. Normally the pain from the tooth is radiated to jaw or head because these areas have common nerve supply. The back and tooth donot have a common nerve supply. So it is not possible for both the problems to have the same origin.
I guess it is right to say that it is an old wives tale Images available only to Customers.
