I have have been to my general doctor, a physical medicine doc., PT, Chiropractor...I have had one epidural injection...nothing is working...Im very frustrated. I can't stand up straight at times...I hurt all the time...they say that I have had no slipped or buldging discs. They don't know whats wrong. I don't know what to do anymore? I am ready for them to cut on me from head to toe if they could just fix it....Ive been on anti-infla, muscle relax's, and even wear a tens unit at times. Im only 32...what do I do now...Do I look for another doc? Do I look for a surgeon....Im too young too have this chronic pain.

HAve you consulted an orthopaedician or neurosurgeon?

do you think that it could be a slipped disc or something...cause the pain is so bad that Im ready to say cut me open

I tried the excercises in therapy they didn't seem to help....

what is it that can cause you to not be able to stand up straight....sometimes just getting up from a chair it is hard to straighten up....but then nobody can tell me what is wrong do you know what that does to a chronic pain sufferer..

I just have to get through my job...i just started as a technician in a hospital..and we have learned as a family to live with the pain although I may not be much of a mother or wife when I get home from work...

It could be a slipped disc, but its not just a slipped disc but many other problems with the spine, like osteophytes or spondylosis (decreaed space between two vertebrae) which could cause this pain. An Orthopaedician will be able to diagnose this, that is why you need to consult one.

Besides exercise, there are many other methods. Some of them are Lumbar belts, Traction, etc. These would be advised by the orthopaedician and are likely to cure you.

It is because of the back pain and the muscle spasms of the back muscles that you are not able to stand up straight. Once the pain is gone, you will be able to stand up again.

Although giving up the job may not be an option, you can take some steps like sitting down whenever you can, change to a different counter like the cash counter where you may not have to stand so much, or at least not bend so much, etc.
