I was diagnosed with a severe UTI five days ago, and I do not seem to be getting better. I am currently taking Bactrim twice a day, but I still have terrible abdominal and back pain, pain during urination, a pounding headache, and a fever of 101.5. I also feel very confused and foggy. I have no insurance, and my college's health clinic is closed today. Please let me know if there is anything I can do tonight to start feeling better. I will be scheduling an appointment at the college tomorrow, but I need relief today.

Hi,

Ideally you need a Urine culture and sensitivity test .

Also if you are not responding to the bactrim you may be advised some higher antibiotics like ofloxacin/gatifloxacin .(fluoroquinolone )

Drink plenty of water .

Drink cranberry juice if you are not on any other medications especially blood thinners .
