Question

Birth control problem

Sent to Health Experts August 06, 2005 3:40 a.m.

I am on a birth control called seasonale, and I am having problems with breakthrough bleeding. I have been on it for a year now, and nothing has changed about the problems with bleeding. I know that some women need birth control with higher dosages of hormones to be able to manage there cycle effectively, but I was wondering if there was a way to do it with seasonale. They only make it with one dosage size, and I don’t think that it is strong enough for me. Do you think it would be possible to manage it a bit myself by adding a little bit of an extra pill from another pack to my daily dose to up the amount just enough?? I am so tired of this extra bleeding that seems to last forever, but I really want to use this kind of birth control. The 4 periods a year would really make my life easier, because I am a swimmer, but right now, its just not strong enough! Please Help!
