When a man has a vasectomy, afterwards that is, when he reaches climax since the sperm are now not going to be there is there any sort of a mucus release?

Yes, he will still produce ejaculate fluid, or semen. It will just be minus the sperm.

It is recommended that if you have just had your vasectomy, you get tested for sperm count. Depending on how often you ejaculate, it may take some time to get all the sperm out of your system.

Usually, men are to go back a few times until the sperm count becomes nil. Until that time, another form of birth control is recommended to avoid unwanted pregnancy.
