how long does it take for birth control - the pill orthotricyclen to be effective? when can i stop using a condom and not have to worry about getting pregnant? I started using the pill today

I would wait at least two weeks. That said, you may still want to use a condom as the pill doesn't prevent or guard against STD's. It will only help to prevent pregnancy.
